RUSS TO RETIRE: QUE TO ASSUME OFFICIAL TITLE AS UGA X

The Georgia Athletic Association released today that Uga IX, aka Russ, will officially retire on Saturday November 21 when the Dawgs take on Georgia Southern. That's when Uga X, also known as Que, will be named the Dawgs' new mascot in 2015.
Russ will retire after a couple more games as Uga. Once in an interim role from 2009-2012 for 25 games. He then had another 38-game run from 2012-2014. "The half-brother of Uga VII, Russ compiled an overall record of 44-19," reads the statement from UGA. "He served as an interim Bulldog mascot for a total of 25 games, working nine games during the 2009 and 2010 seasons after Uga VII and VIII passed away.
DGD Elite Russ roamed the sidelines at all 14 games during the 2011 season. He then served for two wins at the beginning of the 2012 season before being promoted as Uga IX prior to the Florida Atlantic game on Sept. 15, 2012.
