It appears as if the Georgia Bulldogs have found the well they like to get their coaches from for the football program: fellow SEC member Alabama.
Just weeks after hiring Crimson Tide defensive coordinator (and former Bulldogs player) Kirby Smart as their new head coach, a report says that Sma
rt is set to bring in another member of the ‘Bama coaching tree to Athens and become the defensive coordinator for the Dawgs.
Lupoi had just finished his first season on the sidelines for the Crimson Tide, having served as a team analyst as part of the staff in 2014. Before that, he spent time as an assistant at his alma mater, Cal, as well as Washington.
If he is the new man in charge, Lupoi would replace Jeremy Pruitt … who was hired to replace Smart as Alabama’s defensive coordinator.
