UGA BOWL PRACTICE "IS THE REAL DEAL"

Georgia hasn’t let up in bowl practices with a skeleton staff after head coach Mark Richt, coordinators Brian Schottenheimer and Jeremy Pruitt and inside linebackers coach Mike Ekeler departed, according to nose guard Chris Mayes.

“These have probably been some of the most competitive practices this year I feel,” he said. “Everybody is playing with a lot of energy. Guys are jumping around and competing at a high level each day. The offense and defense are constantly going at it. I feel like it’s definitely the highest energy we’ve had all year.”

Added fullback Christian Payne: “It’s definitely competing. I would say it’s more of a camp-style practice…We’re trying to get better by competing a lot of good on good, even getting back to fundamentals. We’ve also been getting ready for Penn State in there as well.”
